Freelance digital marketer, graphic designer & documentary photographer
What should you know about me?
Ever wondered what you get when you give an introvert a laptop and a camera? well it’s this…. a never-ending surge of photographs, graphic design projects and ideas all blended into Taja Smiths Media Capsule.
Take your time and explore over 6 years of photography portfolio material and indulge in over 4 years of graphic design projects. As a graduate Communications and Media student I am eager to use my skills to aid storytelling for various industries. While there is no cloud space big enough to store all the creative, professional and ambitious projects I have created, I am sure you will find something you enjoy within my publicly available portfolio.
My foundation in a Bachelor of Arts stems from my love for photography from a young age (I have a collection of over 20 vintage cameras from my Pa and he told me never shy from a Nikon). While it is one of my most valuable skills, I do hope you find comfort in my other creative skills such as curation, design & beyond…

Taja has achieved an average High Distinction across her Photography major at UOW, being selected for two exhibitions to showcase her work reflecting on climate change and environmental destruction within Australia.
-
Taja has also been applauded for her creativity towards social impact in her graphic design minor. Designing digital strategies and branding for a “mockup” government campaign to fight dying crop in Australia. Taja is passionate about storytelling but not in the obvious methods, she likes to take a more nuanced approach to allow for her audience to ponder and reflect.

Taja was selected to study at the University of Arts London under a Documentary Photography degree however this was during covid and never went ahead! Although she did visit London last year! Taja hopes to continue to indulge in documentary photography as a hobby and not a profession.
